It's About, In, For!

As with the definition of environmental education, coined in Tiblisi, Georgia in the late 1970s, the SSA is About the environment, In the environent, For the environment ...

A welter of modern "environmentally friendly" things are largely missing out on the About and the In bits.   Being connected to the Earth these days has become a checklist of "green duties", an abhorrence of plastic bags and a permanenet cloud of guilt hovering above!

The SSA highly prioritises About , specifically in terms of us knowing about biolocical diversity and how the effect of every footstep and decision, every day, impacts on  biodiversity.  And the SSA promote In .... getting in touch with nature, but is still working on that one eh?

Links to amazing bio-diversity clips, sites, pix and insights ... coming v. v. soooooon!

The DIY SSA Pioneered by Cities of Randwick, Waverly, Woolahara Rouse Hill, Winston Hills as well as The City of Whitehorse and Hobsons Bay in Melbourne is described in the Prospectus, see to the left, near the How Heading, to download.  It all starts with a Sustainability Street Train the Mentor course open to council officers and community alike.  Below, the historic, first ever TTM introduced by Skype --- thanks to the Clovelly Child Care Centre Sustainability St Village --- & Cities of Randwick, Waverly and Woollahara in East Sydney.
Below, the Clovelly Villagers at the other end of the "Cyber Skype Workshop".  Like wow baby!
