Participants at the first City of Marion SSA invite and Info Sessions and Council briefings

The City of Marion, along with Adelaide City Council, is pioneering the Sustainability Street Approach (SSA) in South Australia, thanks to the sponsorship of the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board.

The City of Marion SSA is off to a flying start with two well attended and highly energised ‘Invite and Information Sessions’ held at the Edwardstown Bowling Club, on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd July. Briefing sessions were also held for City of Marion Council Staff.

Judging from the enthusiasm, and lively discussion amongst participants at the information session, it is very likely that at least one Sustainability Street village will emerge in the near future. Kate from City of Marion will email all those who registered at the Information Session, to let them know about details of the next meeting. In the meantime if you have any friends or neighbours who might like to join in, please let them know.

If you would like more information or would like to discuss how you might become involved in an SSA Village in the City of Marion, contact Kate Hubmayer on (08) 8375-6767 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The DIY SSA Pioneered by Cities of Randwick, Waverly, Woolahara Rouse Hill, Winston Hills as well as The City of Whitehorse and Hobsons Bay in Melbourne is described in the Prospectus, see to the left, near the How Heading, to download.  It all starts with a Sustainability Street Train the Mentor course open to council officers and community alike.  Below, the historic, first ever TTM introduced by Skype --- thanks to the Clovelly Child Care Centre Sustainability St Village --- & Cities of Randwick, Waverly and Woollahara in East Sydney.
Below, the Clovelly Villagers at the other end of the "Cyber Skype Workshop".  Like wow baby!
