Wollongong SSA Village
The City of Wollongong was the first organisation to employ a Sustainability Street Mentor, whose job it was to assist the development of the local villages. Many new local villages have since developed in Wollongong including the famous mob who knocked down their back fences. The ‘Gong Villages organise open days so that others from across the City can come and visit Sustainability Street Homes, check out the vegie patches, see the grey water recycling systems, marvel at the ingenious draft reduction strategies, etc, of the neighbours.

The Sustainability St project has been building better relationships with each other and building a much better relationship with the natural world are the greatest challenges of human history - Sustainability Street ... a new reason to be neighbours.
