The Sustainability Street Institute's new Manual, V4.1, "The Shortcut to Sustainability Street; DIO", features a diary from small local group of folk, who detail how they have "used" each of the Eight Aspects of the SSA, the eighth of which, coincidentally, are the Eight Principles.
Here's what they wrote ...
8. The Eight Principles of the Sustainability Street Approach are gold! I mean, how good is it to be able to spurn the whole “guilt trip” thing ... amd, how energising to reject the “doom and gloom” tsunami, leaping instead into life affirming sustainable living! … or, to close our eyes, lie on our backs, put on peaceful, new age hippy music or something from the Baroque era … then get blissfullyt lost in imagining a beautiful, absolutely clean, green and prosperous future … in which our kids are fullfilled, healthy and content with their lives ... holding a deep love and respect for nature, surrounded by abundance, right mindedness, fascinating eco-sustainable jobs … living in partnership with a planet, which, herself, has a tear of joy and gratitude trickling out of one eye.
And, these are just three of the 8 principles, the other five are even more humanising, loving and Earthophillic, guaranteeing abundance and prosperity in our lives.

Since 2002, more than 250 local Sustainabilty Street Villages have accomplished remarkable benchmarks in both environmental impact reduction and social connectedness. The second proving "bio-rocket fuel" to the first. Humans are hard-wired to smile, look after each other and the Earth upon which our physical and spiritual health depends.
