There are three Simple Steps to calculating your eco•fingerprint®

1.    Plan : actually sit, think through and plan how your "sustainable life" might unfold over certain periods of time
i. Just what can you commit to over the next weeks or months
ii. Over the next year or so
iii. Over the next five to ten years
To assist with the plan, you can use other tools and techniques such as the Three Areas Of Daily Focused Effort Approach, the Mulch • Grow • Harvest • Sow tool, the Waste, Water, Energy Conservation shortcuts, the 101,001 tips, and much more ... all of which can be found on the Sustainaclopedia™.
2.    Change : In priority order, according to what your budget or life realities will allow at this stage, make a list of your initiatives and commitments to sustainable living

3.    Sustain : Put your name where your mouth is. Post your plan of lifelong commitment on your eco-fingerprint® SustainaBlog. For all the world to see!

You are now ready to "start your sustainable future". The ecological footprint is a measure of the relative amount of land needed to sustain levels of consumption. Metaphorically, your commitment to your future is about revegetating some of that land to rebuild habitat
